SAT / ACT Test Preparation

Students will study the writing rubric, which is the grid or the “measuring stick” used to evaluate essays for college entrance exams. By writing sample essays from prompts, students will gain skill in structure and style and will be better prepared to write an effective essay under time pressure.

Students have the opportunity to study test-taking strategies which help them to be better equipped and more confident. By actually working through sample test questions, students will navigate the English grammar and reading tests more skillfully. The book used for this preparation is titled The Real ACT prep Guide, 2nd Edition, copyright 2008.
