Literary Analysis

Britta-3This course introduces students to the key elements of literature like setting, character development, plot, theme, and conflict. Each of these is examined as it appears in simple pieces of literature. The students also
learn to research the author’s life and times, and to see the literature as an expression of the era it was
written in. Then they use their new knowledge to analyze larger classic literary works. The course also requires
students to write about the literature based on the interpretive elements that they have learned.
